this will be a REALLY long entry tau. so you've been warned.
my first riding TP was this morning. and i went there, all sleepy and stuff, pasal tak cukup tido--duh. PLUS, it was raining. elephants. and you know me and not running. so i was walking calmly to the reporting counter with rainwater dripping down my face. SUNGGUH TAK GLAM.
raime ader raime ader yayyyy!!!
during warmup, aku macam nak terkencing, so afterwards i went la. so imagine how annoyed i was when, while waiting for my turn, aku nak terkencing lagiiii!!! balls la. cos i was #71 out of 91 people. and you know, rain and cold temperatures and balmy breezes, NOT HELPING.
well warmup went smoothly. so did the circuit part, although aku cam wobbled giler at crank course, cos i almost langgar kerb. and omg la, the need to pee
intensified at plank and E-brake! espesh E-brake. dahlah the queue was ten people long. i SO wanted to die, and i found myself wondering if people would notice if i just peed on the bike.
don't worry, i DIDN'T laaaa! giler ke pe.
then aku blah to the road, which was pretty okay, actually. i didn't realise the right turn arrow would last so long, but luckily i had the balls to clear it. at gear five, though. *dies* i was first bike for U-turn, which i hate, but which went okay, i think. oooh and the right turn at T-junction, aku macam ter-hesitate lama sangat, i was so afraid he'd mark me for that! finally, back in the circuit, i forgot to signal right and just changed lane anyway.
BUT I PASSED LAAAAA!!!the process of waiting was really painful. i mostly buried my face in my hands and silently baca Al-Fatihah and selawated, cos i don't know any other doas, sorry. like a billion times. and popped listerine in, flake after flake, like i had a bad case of halitosis or something. even after they pointedly skipped my number when reading out row 8 failures, i still wasn't convinced. i expected a tester to come barging in any minute and call out my number.
but you know, they didn't. =DDDDD after one hour i was still safe, it was terrific. and thanks shafa for calling and easing the tension. granted, you didn't know what you were doing, but you know, it worked. hahaha.
the guys were cute. well, half of them were. unfortunately, most of them were younger than me. [not that i care, but i'm sure they do.] how did i know this? cos they give tag numbers in order of IC numbers. which means the oldest go first and the youngest go last. so i was like thinking to myself,
okay, you can only check out the guys whose numbers are before yours, so stop looking at the 80-somethings.. then checked myself, and i was,
wtf la, as if ANY of them will even be interested in me! i was wrong. one of the semi-cute ones kept eyeing me in the results room from his position on the floor. then when they showed the video, BARU dier amik kesempatan to move to the seat next to mine. too bad all he did was smile at me a lot, and ask, "how many times did you take?"
[my FIRST time, actually!!! can you believe i passed bike before car??? and to think i couldn't even cycle when i started out!!! and i signed up for bike three months after car!!!]
then later these three [younger] mats [who also passed] hung out with me for awhile at the booking terminals and fooled around with the website. cute lah diorang. espesh the one with the blonde hair, haha.
finally, zakir, who smiled at me while i was talking to shafa on the phone. later, after we collected our results [same group], he asked how many points i got, and there it began. haha. as in, we went upstairs together, applied for license together all that la. anyway his number was called first, so when he was done, he just macam, walked past me without saying bye. so i was like, okay apaperlah. then when
I was done with my license, i realised that he was waiting for me at the back of the room. so we went off together la, after he asked if i was crossing the road, and what bus i was taking.
i decided to cab in the end, pasal dah superfuckinglate for school. and since it was STILL RAINING, i asked him to tahan cab for me, and offered him a lift since macam, he didn't bring a bag and his license all merepek nanti basah. well in the cab he asked for my number.
"what's your name? oh ain rite?"
--"how did you know? when did i tell you?"
"oh haha sorry tadi kiter kepo, tengok your PDL.."
then he kept asking why i wasn't looking for a boyfriend, and reiterating the fact that he was around. and poking me. and pinching my cheeks and my nose. and squeezing my shoulder. finally he asked me out. [he also asked me another related question, but
you know.]
in related news, the taxi driver, this uncle, was SO COOL la. he was extremely friendly and chatty, and not in that annoying please-shut-up-uncle way. first he was telling us that it was his first day with transcab, having just transferred from citycab, and that it was a new car la, and that we were his second passengers. macam cool kan? so i was like, "wow really?" and it was at this point when zakir started pinching my cheeks.
anyway Cool Taxi Uncle was telling me bout his daughter who baru masuk NTU, and about the IT fair at expo, AND about how he used to ride. from 1970s, he said. till 1990s, then he started driving cabs la. and come on la, it's not just any bike, he used to ride a freaking scramblerrrr!!! i was like, "wah so cool!" then he recommended i get a wave bike, or adik-beradik dier, and i refused, cakap aku nak sportsbike cos "sportsbike cool lah.. i want scrambler la, but i'm too short.." and he laughed and he was like, "oh you want cool ah.. now 125 alot of nice ones.."
ah. Cool Taxi Uncle. should have gotten his number, for future taxi rides. ohwell.
