should have brought a camera to the chalet, but i didn't. so i took one photo at the poolside, the morning i checked out. the pool rocks!
lemonade, comics, and the rain

oh and here's the photo i took with the man himself, taufik! woohoo!!!
a dream come true. literally.
okaylah. i guess it's time to talk about perth. funny, the last time i went there, i was in sec 1. but the 2 experiences seem so different. it's like i noticed so much more this time than the last time i was there.

getting there
the plane ride there was great. but i realised tt somehow i'd managed to develop an irrational fear of flying, so i spent a considerable amt of time on both flights praying for a safe trip. haha. anyway the plane we took there was great, the krisworld was like the most updated one, so they were showing over 20 different movies, including l'auberge espanol and kal ho naa ho. cool rite? and diverse. they also had a whole range of cds in the the database for u to listen to. mercifully, no good charlotte. haha. and you can even restart the movie, or forward it to the part you want to watch. it was really cool. i watched catwoman. it was cool, but i don't really like the ending. who cld leave benjamin bratt, man? i listened to usher's confessions. it's nice, but it has only one fast number. sorry, too many slow songs pon boleh jadi boring. the food was great as usual, and now they've added dessert to the menu so u get a stick ice-cream after ur meal, isn't tt cool? anyway, no cute guys. okay, fine, there were, cos of all the feringhees, but no eye-catching cute guys. and there was one taufik impostor! he was like wearing the tshirt-and-jacket combo with a trucker cap. hello! he was travelling! in a plane! with his family! jgn nak eksyen big shot, please! the customs at perth was really shitty. well basically, the perth airport is really shitty. it's like 2 storeys high and they turn off the aircon at night. and you have to pay 3 bucks to use *A* trolley. and it's absolutely filthy outside. apparently the domestic airport is much nicer. ape je. shouldn't it be the other way around? anyway. we sat there and waited for the rest to come out. and auntie shirley came out, and she came to speak to us before she went home, and i noticed this hot guy behind her, and i realised it was shaun! omg! he was still amazingly hot! i wanted to die. cos i looked extremely shitty and uncool. anyway i only got to see him for like 2 seconds before we were ushered out into the 19-degrees-celsius night, so i spent half the trip hoping and praying i'd see him again.

dumb dreams
i kept having stupid dreams. every night i'd have a stupid dream tt featured a different guy in the lead. once it was even lumut! like, seriously. what was WITH the dreams.

weather report
the weather was okay. the nights are really really cool, and if the breeze blows, it'll be really really cold. but in the daytime the sun comes out, so it's really hot, but it's super dry so you won't sweat. but if u stand in the shade you'll be cold cos there's usually a breeze blowing. but seriously, the dry weather was really killing my skin. you have to apply moisturiser like twice a day. and my face was practically flaking! really annoying.

life indoors
i didn't do much there. when i was at home, i either stoned in the room, ate, or watched tv. i did alot of stoning. as in real stoning. i'd just sit there and stare at the bedspread, for like hours. it was really bad. but the tv was good actually. they have satellite, which is sort of like cable, so they have lots of channels and stuff. there are like, 4 music channels or smthg: mtv, channel v, VH1, and Club [it plays clubbing songs, duh]. and they have like, nick and stuff. and 2 comedy channels, which show "the naked news". that's a news show where the newscaster is standing, fully clothed, and starts taking his/her clothes off, piece by piece, while reading the news poker-faced. and at the end they're just standing there, butt naked, with reading the news. and sorry, i didn't watch tt. there were kids in the house! and basically all the programs are completely uncensored. i mean, in Singapore even the cable channels censor "fuck", which i can't understand. in addition to new programs, they ran all those old favourites like the nanny and popular, both of which i absolutely adore. anyway yah you can't go out alone at night cos it's not like Singapore, where you can like pole-dance at a random void deck and not get raped. and you can't go out in the daytime unless you have a car, cos the malls are quite far away frm the residential areas, even in the suburbs. and the bus service is infrequent and expensive. which is why i stayed home alot.

life outdoors
i got to sit infront in the car ALL THE TIME. how cool is that? we went everywhere. maddingtons, livingston marketplace, makro, good sammy's [secondhand shop, not unlike the salvation army thrift stores], carousel and even town. we took the bus to town. that was an experience. they have an entire bus lane separated from the rest of the vehicles by an actual barrier. the shopping was great. i did most of mine at K-Mart and Big W. haha. but seriously, they have great clothes and shoes there! and i bought enough sluardalams to open my own shop! haha. all the malls in the suburbs are single-storey, and in town it's double-storey. and it's so cool how in the suburbs, you get to see the sky ALL the time. no skyscraping buildings to spoil the view. oh and what i love about shopping there is that they have my size, in both shoes and clothes. it's an amazing phenomenon that doesn't happen in singapore, espesh the part about shoes. i got a whole bunch of shoulder-dusters at carousel.. and i had crepes there too. apparently shaun likes crepes with bananas and chocolate. something to keep in mind there.. haha. town was great, there are lotsa places to eat, and we had lunch at this place called "insan's cafe".. it wasn't tt great, actually.. cos i mean, they cater to weak western tastebuds, so it wasn't spicy or anything. and the prices were like wow. tinggi giler sey. my dad sed it's because of the rent they have to pay, since it's in town and all.
oh the houses are so beautiful.. most are single-storey but you get double-storeys sometimes.. and it's quite common to build your own house.. and yah it was all just really nice to look at. my personal favourite was this one not far away from ours, it's a double-storey of dark red brick.. really nice and homey-looking.

the beach
we went to the beach on ellna's birthday, the 21st. at rockingham. apparently tt's a family beach, which explains the lack of hotties. but whatever. it's still really nice, and the water is clear and beautiful, and it's like knee-high for the first 10 metres or smthg. and the sand? wow. it slips through your fingers like flour, it's THAT fine. and let me repeat, the weather is dry, so i was having a great time tanning without the lecehness of sweating.
i also went to an actual boardwalk, at sorrento quay.. wow i mean, you've watched them on tv, like on pacific blue or CSI: Miami or smthg, but you don't have one here in Singapore, with actual floorboards and stuff, do you? yeah. and they have all these nice houses that look out onto the water, which you can rent for the day, or week, or month! wow. and they also had all these huge boats up for sale. it was really cool. there was one going for $170 000--it has accomodation for 8, with 2 bathrooms, etc. if only i had the bucks, that'd be the first thing i'd buy.

the zoo
perth zoo sucks. please don't go there. it really sucks! half the animals are in hiding cos it was SO hot. the other half are like, listless, like the poor orangutans who were in the shade to escape from the heat. i was eager to see all the native animals, but when i went to the dingo enclosure, i couldn't see a single one. and forget the kangaroos. not a sign! actually, there were signs, but there wasn't a single kangaroo. so whatever.
however, they have nice picnic areas with barbecue pits which you can book if you wanna have a family picnic, so i guess it isn't all bad. and it IS quite a huge zoo.

hotties
they were EVERYWHERE! at maddington's there was this wade robson-lookalike. he was trying on this tshirt so he just took off his own, right there in the middle of the mall, and put on the other one. wow. and as expected, i couldn't stop staring. i'm convinced he's wade's relative, since wade IS from australia.
another time there was this danny mcfly-lookalike, at sorrento quay. trucker cap, dark straight hair, fair and rosy-cheeked, kiut! he polished off his fish and chips in record time.
oh and in target in town, there was this prince william-lookalike called sean at the counter. wow he was really really prince-williamy! i was just dying there.
and half the time i'd be like, wow that guy is cute, and he'd turn out to be like, the father of a 3-year-old! haha. klakar.
ooh and i was watching this streetshow in town, and this whole GANG of like, hispanic-looking hotties strode past! they were really really hot! wow. ooh and i saw a decaf-lookalike, except he was wearing silver jewelry, as opposed to gold. haha.
so if you wanna see hotties, town is the best place, followed by sorrento quay. and i mean, in sorrento quay, it's more likely than not tt they'll be dressed only in shorts! haha.

quirks
there. are. so. many. FAT GIRLS!!! i swear. if you think i'm fat [which i'm sure you do], i am a supermodel compared to these girls. they're like, bulgingly fat, and what's worse is that they unabashedly wear skimpies like layered tank tops with tight miniskirts and stuff. eeew. there were many occasions where i'd be sitting down watching them go by, and pointing out the latest fat girl to my mom or any of my other relatives. haha. and it's not just girls, there are many fat mothers and stuff.. there was one unfortunate braless one once. eeee..
bare feet is an amazingly common phenomenon in the suburbs. [the town is too dirty.] they'll just be walking around the malls, the carpark, and wherever elses, not wearing any shoes. at first i thought it was just kids, but then i'd see 20-something couples, where the guy is shoeless and the girl's wearing shoes, or the other way around. funn-ay. even in the zoo, there was this boyfriend not wearing his sandals [they were on his bag]. tak faham. i mean, i hate shoes too, but the world is just too dirty for me to consider liberating my feet to tt extent.
ever seen graffiti? the Singapore brand of graffiti is nothing compared to international graffiti! the toilets of the McDonald's in town were just covered with them. and it looks quite nice, really. my brother took a photo of a graffiti-ed wall and made it his phone wallpaper. haha.
ohyah. extension of the fat-girl-quirk. some of them have boyfriends!!! what injustice is this?!?!?!? haha.
oh and uncle matt spotted this tshirt on a guy tt sed "YOU'VE BEEN A BAD GIRL. GO TO MY ROOM." wahaha. klakar sey.

christmas
it was quite great. you know they have the christmas light-up at orchard every year? well i didn't get to see it this year, but i got to see the light-up in perth. there are certain streets where practically all the houses there have their own decorations. and i'm not talking christmas trees with tinsel and the angel on top, and maybe candles in the windows. they have stuff like santa claus and his sleigh and reindeer on the roof, the manger scene set up in the lawn, even a wishing well next to the driveway whose proceeds go to some children's charity. it's all so pretty with all the colourful lights and stuff.. and at night there'll be lots of people walking along these streets, admiring them, and even taking photos is not out of the question, so i took some of my own. okay, fine, i went trigger-happy. but it was really great. apparently they have this competition for the best light-up. the winner gets free power for the year or smthg. ooh there was this one house where the guy has a mini-carrel and he has a pony in it, which he lets the kids ride. cool rite? so much more personal and interactive than in Singapore. ooh i just love Christmas. and it's so much bigger in western countries than in Singapore, so everyone was like wishing us "Merry Christmas".. how fun!
we even got presents for Christmas, cos they celebrate it there. i got a miniskirt!!! woohoo! it was so great! they got it from the carousel k-mart.. and it's really nice, and it actually fits, unlike all the miniskirts they have here in Singapore.

coming home
anyway yeah Christmas Day also meant Going-Home Day, and i was so excited to go home!!! i'd been counting down since day 5 or smthg. but it also meant tt i wouldn't be able to see shaun ever again. i mean, it was the day i was leaving, how would i ever get a chance to see him before i left, right?
we made good time at the airport, so we sat at red rooster eating chips while waiting to go in. [oh tt's one thing i forgot to mention. fries in perth are called "chips". they're heeuuge! all fat and full of kentang, and really deeelish. even kfc and whatever serve those fat chips instead of the skinny-nak-mampos fries.] then suddenly this guy comes out of nowhere and says hi to cik lin. guess who?!?!?! it was shaun! apparently he works at the airport, at ale house and dome alternately [oh tt reminds me, i didn't see a single starbucks there. just a thought.]. so he was just there, talking to cik lin and cik jun. and i was just there, staring at his hotness, shaun, with the really handsome face and dark eyes and two single-pierced ears with a diamante stud in each, wearing the black ale house tshirt and a santa hat sempena Christmas, and spinning/flipping a wine/beer glass in his hands. ahhh he's hot. can't believe God actually granted my doa to see him again before i left!!! so thank You, God.
the plane ride back was, frankly, not the best. firstly, the krisworld was one of those older models. so you couldn't stop or rewind the movie or whatever. and the movie selection was much less diverse. and they didn't have cds in the database or whatever. so this time i watched the princess diaries 2, cos the version on my comp is quite lousy, and wicker park, which i honestly think is one freaky movie. oh and the last bit of love actually. i love the little girl, she is the prettiest little thing! there was also really really bad turbulence, which gave me a headache and prompted me to double my prayers for our collective safety. i even snapped at my brother for playing with the tray-table-thingy. apparently the turbulence was caused by the same forces tt caused the tsunamis. freaky.
so finally i got home [auntie june picked us up, but we couldn't all fit cos of our 100kg luggage], went online, and here i am, mengangguring.

i met taufik!!!
woohoo! okay, shafa and i went out again today. [before tt i met fariq at bedok mrt to pass him my yearbook. he was late. but takperlah. he was also wearing a fisherman's hat. THAT i cannot forgive. haha.] we watched ocean's twelve at ps. it was.. well, it was okay. i thought the first one was alot better. but the cameo by topher grace was so cute! he has longish hair and he wears a tshirt tt says YOUR BOYFRIEND WANTS ME. hehe. i'd love to wear tt tshirt. anyway, hagrid appears in the film too, it's so cool! and rusty has the sexiest fashion sense! all those soft long-sleeved shirts in nice soothing colours.. wow. and btw, he still eats in the movie alot, but less than he did in the sequel. and catherine zeta-jones-douglas looks really hot. love her hair. don't care for the accent, though.
ok sebenarnyer no one wants to read about this rite? i'll cut to the chase. we were eating at jon's salon [cos i wasn't full frm eating at delifrance] and i was facing the outside and this guy came out of the lift wearing a purple trucker cap and i swear he looked like taufik, so i sed to shafa, "does tt guy look like taufik?" and she was like, "i dunno, i don't really care much anyway.." and so i left it at tt, cos there was this stupid taufik impostor in the plane to perth, and i didn't wanna be fooled twice. but as we finished eating, this woman came into the shop and told jason tt taufik was there. so i decided to go look for him. haha. i couldn't find him, but shafa saw him in "marie veton" [a dress boutique] and we spent like 2 minutes outside trying to figure out what to do. i wanted an autograph at first, but i didn't have a pen. bodoh! so i decided to use my phone cam and take a photo je ah. so we went into the shop, and all these makciks were taking photo with him. and the jon's salon makcik was there, and she saw us, and she asked, "nak ambik gambar?" and i was like, yah. she offered to let us use her camera, but i declined and decided to just use my fone. finally they stopped taking fotos with him so i went up to him.
me: can i take a photo with u too?
taufik: are you buying anything?
me: um, no..
taufik: [acting shocked] why? you must buy first, then can take photo! i'm representing this shop.. [starts picking out bajus] how about this colour?
woman from sidelines: don't have size ah.. [i think tt's what she sed..]
me: yah u need a bigger size..
him: bigger size? don't be so hard on urself lah..
anyway we took the photo. the makcik kept offering her camera, so i decided to accept it anyway. but i think my eyes tertutup. darn. takperlah. ooh he's so cute, and i was like so clumsy!
him: so you guys are shopping?
me: yah.. i mean, no.. i mean, we're just hanging out.. [trying to find something cool to say] anyway, i'll definitely buy ur cd!
fortunately the makciks also added their opinions on buying his cd, which blunted the shittiness of my last comment slightly. haha. i would like to thank shafa for finding him and taking the photo.
oh we were walking to the mrt and there were these 3 mims, one girl and two mats. the girl was kinda fat. so i was like, "wow look at tt. the guys are hanging out with a fat girl.. why don't any guys hang out with THIS fat girl? [i.e. me]" and suddenly we heard this other mat say, "yo." we continued walking. "yo." when i turned around, i saw tt he wasn't talking on the phone and he wasn't talking to anyone in sight, so maybe he heard my comment and wanted to offer his profound opinions on it.
oh my brother just cut his hair and now he looks like max from living with lydia. haha.

Tuesday, December 28, 2004

okay it's been a long time since i blogged properly. it's just cos i'm so malas to talk about perth. so i won't. not yet, anyway.
today i went mat-watching with shafa. how fun! okay first we went to repair her fone, yada-yada. we were eating at LJS and i met alina and shengrong! wow aper itu? haha anyway we went to tampines for optimal performance. and who was at TM? adzfar! [and his pink tshirt. haha.] there were these 3 guys in the adidas shop just standing at the counter.. and i was going to look at this rugby ball and i hadta tiptoe to bring it down and they were just like, chuckling! which made ME blush, so i refused to stare them down cos then they'd see my red face. argh buat malu je. oh haha and in delifrance, shafa was complaining abt the guy who served her, who apparently had an attitude face. so i got a good look at him and i started laughing cos he looked like squidward! haha. and his co-worker looked like spongebob, with the pimples on his cheeks.. it was SO funny. btw, i've never figured out why, when TM is teeming with people at all hours of the day, century square is as lengang as a graveyard. it's not THAT boring rite? well whatever. i had fun today. i just love going out, there's never anything to do at home anyway.
the past two days was the babain chalet. haha. i think we had less than 10 people come over, including my sister and kumara. well whatever. we had fun anyway. the pool is really nice, baba and i were screaming as we went down the slide.. hahahah.. itu belom lagi gi si wild wild wet sey. and can i PLEASE do some additional advertising for Q-Bite, this amazing brand of prepackaged chicken for all occasions. it's around 4 bucks a packet, and all u hafta do is fry it. it comes in 4 flavours: honey wings, mexican wings, chicken teriyaki and original crispy chicken. wow. it's so lovely. and eat it with sinsin extra hot chilli sauce. all available at your nearest major super/hypermarket.
okay enuff about food. we also watched bride & prejudice, white chicks, gila gila pengantin and puteri gunung ledang. the last one--i don't think it's THAT great, but it's quite a nice movie, if you ignore the slow unfolding of the scenes and the boring fight scenes. we were like making catty comments when she started dancing infront of him out of the blue, e.g. "so if i start dancing infront of samit, he'll like me?" oh and u realise tt tube tops existed in this part of the world long before si barat even started wearing them? ha. oh and i was so bored during the fight scenes tt i picked up the yellow pages and started looking for people and their addresses/phone numbers. i managed to find OM's dad! [i think..] and interestingly, he had 2 separate addresses! i also found scaryhots' dad.. haha. but from his address, he doesn't live THAT near pasir ris beach pe..
well the highlight of last night has to be the phone call. after discovering tt the chalet's phone has a speakerphone function, fana called the number listed under the west address of OM's alleged dad. and.... the number was apparently disconnected. i wonder what's the story behind tt. so not wanting it to be a total loss, we called someone else. who answered. but we didn't. anyway it was a funny/hurtful/annoying situation, all at once. i really really wonder which is the real him--the friendly guy or the rude fucker. i guess i'll never know unless i ask him myself, in which case i think he'll prolly turn into the rude fucker.
my sister slept over with me, thank God. and checkout was really quite fast. so i sat at the poolside reading my comics, eating choc & bisc and drinking lemonade from the carton. it was a really nice view. so i took a photo with my phone. the only visual reminder of the chalet. haha.

ohyes i've been wanting to post this. natasha bedingfield. shafa and i were discussing her.
shafa: her voice is really unique..
me: yeah..
shafa: i mean, when i first heard her sing on the radio, i thought she was black..
me: yah, i thought she was Pink..
then we realised the ramifications of my statement and started laughing. bodoh.

almost forgot. fariq, the guy i thought was nice but suddenly started avoiding me, has requested the yearbook from me! tak caye sey. he must really want it or smthg, or why would he bother asking me rite.

Saturday, December 25, 2004

heyyy i'm back!!! 2 unknown ppl have tagged! haha. anyway i got back at like 10-ish, actually. i've just been stuck to the comp since.. i miss ya, comp!

Tuesday, December 14, 2004

Okay i haf like a couple of hours cos d flight's at 740. T1 has more lumpurs than T2! Haha. Oh my mom was pesterg kak yut abt d airport job. How embarrassg! Haha. Oh god i'm really bored! I'm not a girl, not yet a woman so i kan't play catchg, n i kan't sit n talk w my aunts either.. Help! Ok i'm going to pray tt samit appears. Altho he's prolly on d 53 home now. Pray w me..
darn. i overslept AGAIN this morning! i mean, i heard my alarm go off, but i was vaguely aware of me turning it off!!! so.. i woke up naturally at 830. sorry samit. not tt u care or anything. but i can't believe i missed my last chance to see samit and go to the beach before i leave!
it's like past noon now. i'm not finished packing. i don't want to leave!!! if we weren't taking the plane i wouldn't go at all. i think my favourite part going on holiday is taking the plane. i love the food, the seats, the inflight entertainment. and i love the airport. i could spend my entire day there. and not [just] because of samit. haha.
i had this horrible concoction of a dream involving me, shafa and baba at woodlands bus interchange which looked amazingly like yishun bus interchange, and trying to get a plane there. apeeee je.
i just watched the princess diaries 2: the royal engagement on my comp.. it's really quite cool, the bodyguard lionel is sooooo cute! reminiscent of michael moscovitz, who was conspicuously missing in this movie. helLO! i thought they were in love or smthg?
well i guess i should go now. this comp's been on all night, kesian sey. before it blows up in my face or anything [actually that's one of my bigger fears], i better turn it off.

Monday, December 13, 2004

i finally found my OBS journal. it was lurking in one of my drawers. actually it wasn't lurking, it was kinda near the top, but hidden by the qoo notebook. anyway i sat down and had a good read, and just like my OBS letter, it's about 40-50% OM-related. it's quite funny really, in a way. seems we were like, semi-friends during OBS--we talked on a total of at least 3 occasions. hahaha. okay whatever. too bad it can't be like that now. or at all this year.
oh God i can't believe i won't be blogging for like, 10 days! too much, i say, this is too much! so i may be coming back here periodically in the next 24 hours to post inane grumblings such as these.
suddenly i don't want to go. i wanna stay here with the tv shows and the movies on my computer, and my prom photos, and see samit on 53 every morning, and look for a cool waitressing job. i'll miss the abovementioned stuff, and then some. well i better start packing now. yes i said "start". i haven't even unzipped the bag yet. wahaha. bye peeps. pray tt tommy msgs me. although he prolly won't.
ha rupernyer my fone has autoroam so if tommy's hati tergerak untuk me-msg me, i'll receive it! excellent! anyway will be back at christmas, don't forget my chalet, peeps!

Weeping willow with your tears running down
Why do you always weep and frown?
Is it because he left you one day?
Is it because he could not stay?

He found shelter in your shade
You thought his laughter would never fade
On your branches, he would swing
Do you long for the happiness that day would bring?

Weeping willow, stop your tears
For there is something to calm your fears
If you think death has ripped you forever apart
I know he'll always be in your heart.
